WHAT THE FUNCTION COVERS
Legal and compliance is a group function rather than a company sold to outside clients. One in-house team handles corporate, commercial and regulatory work for every entity in the portfolio: formation and maintenance of group companies, shareholder and intra-group agreements, commercial and distribution contracts, transaction support, employment matters, and the sector-specific filings each business is subject to — from energy licensing thresholds to financial-services and data obligations.
Keeping it inside has two effects. Portfolio companies get counsel that already knows the group’s structure, its counterparties and its history, so work starts without a briefing exercise. And the group keeps one standard across jurisdictions, which is what makes every entity audit-ready at short notice rather than after a scramble.
